Alex Cox talks

Here’s an interview with Alex Cox. In this interview he…

– doesn’t speak highly of Moviedrome… again (sigh).
– reveals David Lynch’s company tried to prevent Repo Chick from screening.
– laments that the studios have won (aided by the horrible Jude Law, no less)
– talks about directing while you’re being blacklisted

Here’s the link. Courtesy of Moviefone.

As acerbic as always which I guess is a good thing. Nice to see he hasn’t mellowed with age and is upholding a pretty unfashionable punk attitude to film-making in general.

Still that doesn’t mean I agree with him and I can’t say I’m particularly curious to Repo-Chick. It reminds me of a cross between the horrible green screen and acting style of Bitch-Slap and the future vision of Idiocracy. Both had major problems.

I should be able to review Repo Chick later this month. My fingers are crossed.

Ah good, I hate to take a “you watch so we don’t have to stance” but I stand by to have you change my mind 😉
